Nutritional Therapy for Skin Health

I'm Lindsay Powers, Nutritional Therapist and Health Coach, health writer and Nutrition Manager at Good Health Naturally

I help people with nutritional therapy and health coaching for skin conditions, to get to the root cause of the problem and get back on track to feel more confident and happy and energised.

By following a plan, I aim to empower you to make practical lifelong changes towards better skin health.

Having worked in general nutritional therapy for a number of years, I decided to focus on skin health and founded the Powers Nutrition Clinic. Here at the clinic we specialise in taking a holistic approach to chronic skin conditions.

Skin health has always been a particular interest of mine, stemming from my own experiences. It seemed like a natural progression to focus on skin conditions and help many more people who are going through the same issues as I had.

My Background

I haven’t always worked in nutrition, and in my 20s, I had a demanding job in the transport and logistics industry. During this time, I learnt first-hand what it is like for your skin to suffer due to poor dietary choices, stress, lack of sleep and so on. I thought my teenage spots were a thing of the past when I hit my 20s, but a few years later, I was diagnosed with ‘adult acne’, as my face blew up in a vicious red rash and spots.

At the time, I didn’t connect diet/lifestyle and my skin condition, which came later on, after much reflection.

I began to take a deeper interest in nutrition when I was lucky enough to have a career break and had my two daughters. When they were little, I started researching food for babies and children and experimenting with all sorts of weird and wonderful foods, much to their dismay.

I completed a Naturopathic Nutrition Diploma with the Natural Healthcare College and have worked in nutrition for over a decade now. My nutrition career has allowed me to work with private clients. For the last eight years, I have also been the senior nutritionist and health coach manager at Good Health Naturally, a leading natural health company and worldwide supplier of nutritional supplements.

I am fully insured and a member of the professional body of the NNA (Naturopathic Nutrition Association); in fact, I have been their treasurer and committee member for nearly a decade, and take an active interest in the promotion of natural health.
